Bryan Shades (real name Bryan Herr) is your late night Host of "Shades on the Radio" every Friday night on 88.7 WSYC. He has been on the air since the Fall of 2007. He was inspired to do it since reading about Sean Hannity in 9th grade. He grew up in the small town of Waynesboro, PA. He lives at college in Shippensburg when school is in and both Waynesboro and Frederick, MD when it's not. His three favorite bands are dc Talk, Nirvana, and Ozzy Osbourne which he understands are 3 very broad ends of the spectrum. He has always enjoyed Randy Rhoad's guitar playing, the Ozzman's crazy antics, Kurt Cobain's deeper meanings and mysterious personality, and dc Talk's ability to revolutionize Christian music from hymns to more popular mainstream music with close to the heart lyrics and meaning. He has never been into the rap/hip-hop genre. He is a business major (shocking), because he knows how to be serious when he has to be (don't let his long hair fool you). Always up for crazy ideas, puns (even ones only your grandmother would laugh at), and jokes, Shades can be offended, but it's pretty difficult. Shades has been inspired by the Waynes World skits from Saturday Night Live, as well as the show itself. Random short comic skit humor has always been entertaining to him, hence why he always attempts to throw together an "opening" sketch for each episode of "Shades on the Radio". Occasionally he creates a separate web segment entitled "Shades on the Web", as well as commercials that can be seen on YouTube.
